Selecting signature destinations will allow Fat Girls Traveling Tours to build long-term relationships with destinations. It will be more sustainable for our company, the communities we visit, and our clients. That’s why we need you to take the poll and help us decide on our Signature Destinations.
I launched the Fat Girls Traveling Instagram profile in 2017 after months of traveling through Southeast Asia while working remotely for an online fashion company. I always saw plus-size travelers, but there was so little representation at that point. I’d broken chairs, been too big for a Bali swing, chafed up my thighs on walking tours, and needed a community to vent to and get tips from. That’s the initial reason I launched Fat Girls Traveling.
Since then, the Fat Girls Traveling brand has become many things for many people. This blog was the first extension of the brand. It’s where our community members can find everything from travel tips and itineraries to plus-size dating tips, suggestions from fat-positive medical professionals, photos from our trips and retreats, and more.

For travelers who want to experience the world with us, Fat Girls Traveling Tours (FGTT) is redefining travel. Our luxurious, wellness-centered, and deeply immersive travel experiences are designed for plus-size travelers passionate about exploration. Not only did I want to create a tour company that caters to fat travelers, but I also wanted to lean into the luxury, expelling myths that fat people deserve anything less than the best.
As I was exploring the world, I had no idea I would ever have the opportunity to travel with my community. Over the years, I’ve traveled solo as well as worked with great tour companies, and I’ve had so many incredible experiences. I learned what things I like, which things I’d change, and how things might be adjusted for plus-size travelers.

We’ve partnered with a locally-owned tour company for our 2026 Thailand Loy Krathong Tour. Join us!

FGTT transforms group travel into a heartfelt celebration of connection and comfort. We proudly elevate the voices of those too often overlooked by traditional tours, making every journey a powerful opportunity for confidence, belonging, and personal growth. After years of redesigning tours for other tour companies to make them more accessible to my clients, I launched my own inclusive tour company and began collaborating directly with locally owned tourism partners.
It’s important to note that I’ve traveled to all the places listed in the Signature Destinations poll, except Colombia, and I am planning a discovery trip there this year. Although I can’t predict the future, I need to visit the destinations and test out their fat-friendliness before inviting you.

As we continue to develop inclusive group trips and retreats that prioritize the needs of plus-size travelers, creating Signature Destinations will help us deliver on our promises of luxury, comfort, and cultural immersion. By strengthening local partnerships, we can enhance our community connections and uncover more hidden gems and unique experiences.
According to those who took our 2026-2027 Travel Trips and Retreats Questionnaire, 60% of participants want us to develop trips that are inspired by films and television shows. At the same time, nearly 85% want us to curate some food-focused tours. Selecting signature destinations will allow us to grow roots there and create tours based on specific themes, histories, and regions within those destinations.
None of this is possible without your support and commitment to inclusive travel. We’re thrilled to continue growing with you and look forward to creating more safe spaces for our community.
