Wondering where are the best places to travel in 2024? We asked the Fat Girls Traveling Community what trips they already have booked. I was recently asked by HuffPost to Predict The Most Popular Travel Destinations Of 2024. I took it one step further. Did you know that women generally make 80% of all travel decisions? That’s why I asked the Fat Girls Traveling Community what trips they already have booked for 2024. Here are the trends I found.
South America
South American countries like Colombia and Argentina will be popular in 2024.
The Caribbean
The Caribbean will attract travelers who like to cruise along with those who prefer to be on island time. Countries including Haiti, Jamaica, the Cayman Islands, and the Dominican Republic will see an influx of travelers in 2024.
Cruising
Cruises in general will be popular next year with Antarctica and European cruises at the top of the list.
Cruising is considered one of the more affordable ways to travel. According to Travel Math, if the room, food, and most drinks are included. The trip is basically free! Cruising is also a more stress-free way to travel because daily events and activities are included along with optional excursions that you can add on for a fee.
The cruise industry bounced back in 2021, welcoming nearly 14 million passengers worldwide. There were 20.4 million passengers by the end of 2022. The Cruise Lines International Association predicted that 31.5 million passengers will embark on cruises in 2023. I did my first Disney Cruise this year and it was a fun way to get back on a boat.
Europe
Europe will continue to be a hotspot, especially Italy and Ireland. There are still a few spots available on our Incredible Italy Tour if you’re looking for a fat-friendly group to travel with!
Asia
Japan, Thailand, and Bali lead when it comes to travel in Asia, but Malaysia, Oman, and UAE are gaining popularity in 2024.
United States
Las Vegas
This year Americans traveled all over the world for more affordable tickets to Beyoncé’s Renaissance Tour, myself included! It made the experience more than just a concert because exploring a new place was part of the package.
According to a 2023 online survey conducted by TodayTix Group, an online ticketing platform for theatrical and cultural events 38% of respondents were willing to travel within their state, 17% were willing to travel out of state, and 4% of Americans were willing to book an international trip specifically for a performance.
Domestically, creating a trip based on concerts will continue in 2024. Many people plan on traveling to Las Vegas in 2024 for shows.
