About This Trip
Ciao (Hello)! We’re excited to invite you to our Incredible Italy Tour. You’ll be exploring Italy with our Editor-in-Chief, Annette for 10 days from October 11-20, 2024. This fat-friendly private tour was created and curated by the Fat Girls Traveling team.
After multiple visits to Italy Annette wants to share some of her favorite things and experience some new places with you! This tour will begin in Florence and end in Almalfi after we visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa, have a spa day in the Italian countryside, and take a day trip by ferry to the Isle of Capri.
We’ll travel by private transport to the heart of Tuscany where we’ll enjoy Tuscany’s finest white wines and learn the secrets to authentic Tuscan cuisine in a cooking class with Italian chefs. While in Rome we’ll visit Trevi Fountain, the Colosseum, and take a Gelato Making Class. Before leaving to explore the ruins of ancient Pompeii.

Exclusions
- You are responsible for airport transfers, International airport departure tax, local city taxes unless mentioned, late check out at hotels, and any costs related to visas, insurance, and flights.
- You are responsible for meals and drinks not mentioned in the itinerary, drinks with included lunches and dinners.
- You are responsible for personal expenses, optional activities, and any services not mentioned in the itinerary.
- You are responsible for tips for our Tour Leader, Guides, and Driver.
Itinerary
Day 1: October 11, 2024
Destination: Florence
Welcome to Florence! Your Italian adventure begins with a welcome meeting at 6 pm, where you’ll meet the group and our Tour Leader. Once the formalities are out of the way, get your first taste of Italy at our Welcome Dinner an excellent local restaurant. Our Tour Leader will introduce us to some of Italy’s best dishes.

Day 2: October 12, 2024
Destination: Florence – Pisa
Today we’ll take the train to the beautiful town of Pisa. After our Tour Leader shares the history of the legendary Leaning Tower, you’ll have free time to shop, climb the tower, or enjoy lunch and an aperitif before we take the train back to Florence.

Day 3: October 13, 2024
Destination: Florence – San Gimignano Region
We’ll take a private vehicle to the San Gimignano region, in the heart of Tuscany where we’ll visit a local winery. On arrival, we’ll explore the winery on a walking tour, before heading to the kitchen for a Tuscan Cooking class. We’ll learn the secrets to authentic Tuscan cuisine from Italian chefs. After the class we’ll enjoy lunch and a wine tasting.

Day 4: October 14, 2024
Destination: Florence – Rome
Today we’ll take a private transfer to Roma! Stopping at a beautiful natural spa in the countryside along the way. After a relaxing spa day, we’ll continue to Rome, where we’ll stay for the next two days.

Day 5: October 15, 2024
Destination: Rome
Today we’ll get an early start for our orientation walk. We’ll marvel at some iconic monuments including; Trevi Fountain, the Pantheon, Piazza Navona, Venezia, the Spanish Steps, and more. Along the way, we’ll stop in at a local bar for a quick coffee or gelato.
Of course, we’ll visit the most iconic site, Rome’s grandiose Colosseum. Following the footsteps of gladiators and Roman emperors as your guide shares the unbelievable history of this great arena.

Day 6: October 16, 2024
Destination: Rome
Today you have a full free day in Rome. Sleep in, go shopping, or visit any of the sites not on our list. If you want to use your time to visit the smallest country on earth: Vatican City (not included) this would be the day. Meet up with the group for a Gladiator-themed cocktail party, the first drink is on us!

Day 7: October 17, 2024
Destination: Rome – Pompeii – Amalfi
We’ll travel by private transport from Rome to Pompeii where we will spend most of the day exploring the ruins of ancient Pompeii on a guided tour. The finely preserved ruins include villas, temples, theaters, and bustling markets. We’ll walk along the chariot-marked streets, and visit the magnificent amphitheater and the ‘Villa of Mysteries’. After the visit our journey continues via private transport to your final stop of the day: Amalfi. Where we’ll enjoy some sunset cocktails on arrival.

Day 8: October 18, 2024
Destination: Amalfi
Today we’ll travel by ferry to the famous Isle of Capri, a place where Roman emperors used to come as tourists. We’ll witness Capri’s coastline in all its glory: mighty cliffs, shard-like rock formations, and crashing blue seas. Here we’ll have the day to explore and enjoy lunch. In the late afternoon, we’ll take the ferry back to Amalfi.

Day 9: October 19, 2024
Destination: Amalfi
Today is a free day in Amalfi for your own explorations. Tonight we’ll reunite for our last dinner together and last excuse to dress up. Let’s where yellow or lemon print to our Farewell dinner.

Day 10: October 20, 2024
Destination: Amalfi
Our Incredible Italy Tour comes to an end today. There are no activities planned for the final day. Departure Transfer not included.

Cost of the Trip
To keep costs as low as possible we’re offering tiered pricing. This means that pricing will depend on how many people join us. A minimum of 6 travelers will need to join for this trip to move forward. We’ll have a maximum of 11 travelers. All pricing is based on double occupancy but a single supplement is available if you want a private room.

A non-refundable deposit of $400 is required at the time of booking to secure your spot. The final payment will be due 90 days before departure. A private room is available for an additional fee of $1,455 per person.
