Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel, LA, California
Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel is one of the places your favorite celebrities go and never leave. Suite 1200 was Marilyn Monroe’s favorite and now guests see her reflection in the room’s full-length mirror from time to time. As one of the most star-studded hotels in Hollywood, check in and search for the ghosts of Carole Lombard, Errol Flynn, and Montgomery Cliff.
Hotel Chelsea, NYC, New York
The historic Hotel Chelsea in New York City has hosted writers, artists like Andy Warhol, and musicians like Madonna and Patti Smith. Since the 1950’s it’s been home to ghosts and ghouls including Welsh poet Dylan Thomas whose ghost is said to visit room 206. In October 1978 former bassist for the Sex Pistols, Sid Vicious was charged with stabbing his girlfriend, Nancy Spungen, to death in Room 100. Since Vicious’ death in 1979, guests have seen his ghost roaming the halls of Hotel Chelsea.
The Millenium Biltmore, Los Angeles, California
The Millenium Biltmore is linked to one of Los Angeles’s most infamous crimes, the 1947 Black Dahlia case. The Millenium Biltmore was the last place Elizabeth Short (the Black Dahlia) was seen alive. Short’s spirit has been roaming the halls on the 10th and 11th floors wearing 1940s-style clothes.
Chateau Marmont, West Hollywood, California
West Hollywood’s Chateau Marmont has been an A-lister’s dream stay for nearly 100 years. With celebrity clientele ranging from Katharine Hepburn to Miley Cyrus. Saturday Night Live comedian John Belushi was discovered dead in Bungalow 3 from a drug overdose in 1982. When a family stayed in the bungalow in 1999 the young boy told his mom he was “laughing at the funny man” when asked why he was giggling to himself. While his mother looked through a book of celebrity guests of Chateau Marmont, the boy pointed to a photo of Belushi and said, “The funny man!”
Omni Parker House, Boston, Massachusetts
In Boston, you’ll find one of the longest-running hotels in the United States, the Omni Parker House. This luxury hotel is home to two ghosts, its founder, Harvey Parker, and the author Charles Dickens, who once called this hotel home. Both have been seen roaming the halls of this historic property.
Crescent Hotel & Spa, Eureka Springs, Arkansas
If it’s your dream to stay in a place that was previously a cancer hospital, the 1886 Crescent Hotel & Spa is just what you’ve been waiting for. It’s considered one of the most haunted hotels in the world. Be prepared to meet Michael, an Irish stonemason who fell to his death when building the hotel, and the ghost of Theodora, a cancer patient who fumbles for her keys outside Room 419.
The Pfister Hotel, Milwaukee, Wisconsin
This hotel in Milwaukee is so haunted it’s spooked professional athletes and your favorite Hot Girl, Meghan Thee Stallion. Some say that The Pfister Hotel is being haunted by its original owner, Charles Pfister. While others say the reason for the flickering lights and moving furniture is that the hotel was built on burial grounds.
The Driskill, Austin, Texas
The presidential suite at The Driskill Hotel is just one of the places you’ll find paranormal activity. It’s a must-go for ghost-chasers and history lovers. In 1934 President Lyndon B. Johnson and his wife had their first date here. In 1964 he watched the results of the 1964 Presidential Elections from the presidential suite and celebrated his win in the grand ballroom. LBJ is one of the famous spirits you’ might find wandering the grounds of The Driskill.
The Don CeSar, St. Petersburg, Florida
The pink facade of the Don CeSar should hint at the hotel’s romantic origin story. Real estate mogul Thomas Rowe built the hotel in 1928 as a tribute to his lost love “Lucinda”. Rowe died in the hotel lobby in 1940 but it’s said you can still find his ghost searching the grounds for his beloved. Some guests have even reported spotting a ghostly couple on the property.
Moana Surfrider, A Westin Resort & Spa, Hawaii
Stanford University co-founder, Jane Stanford was vacationing in Hawaii and died unexpectedly in her room at the Moana Surfrider in 1905. To this day guests and hotel staff have seen her ghost walking at night trying to find her room.
The Langham, London
Built in 1865, The Langham is considered the most haunted hotel in London. Most of the paranormal activity comes from Room 333. Here, guests have seen an assortment of spirits. Including the ghost of emperor Napoleon III, a shoeless butler, a German prince who jumped from the fourth floor and still dons his military-style jacket in death, and more.
Nottingham Road Hotel, South Africa
At the turn of the century, when Charlotte learned that the British soldier she was in love with was gone, she threw herself from the balcony of Room 10 at the Nottingham Road Hotel. Guests have seen Charlotte’s ghost rearranging flowers, moving mirrors, and folding guests’ clothes.
