We’ve done it again! We’ve hosted another fabulous and fat-positive retreat in Finger Lakes Wine Country, New York! This year we decided to mix things up a bit with a night out, private sail, drag brunch and so much more. Check – In
Our Fat Campers arrived in upstate New York from all over the country. After checking into their private cabins our campers had a chance to rest and relax before getting ready for our Welcome Party.
Welcome Party
We asked all of our campers to wear floral prints to our Bouquet Making Workshop! Campers worked with a local flower farmer to create beautiful bouquets to keep in their cabins all weekend long.
Welcome Dinner
The Welcome Dinner was prepared by a local celebrity chef and featured Mexican flavors. Our chef can easily cater to food sensitives and allergies.
Day #2
Wine + Wigs Day
Fat people are ready to stand out and our Wine + Wigs Day was giving main character energy! One of the best things about creating a safe space at Fat Camp is how empowered our campers feel in public.
Gurls Night Out
After a day of wine-tasting our Fat Campers headed out to a local cidery for a Dominican-style dinner.
Campfire
The second night ended with storytelling and s’more making. Is it camp without a campfire?
Day #3
Lip Sync Battle
Each camper was asked to prepare a lip sync performance for our epic lip-sync battle. The lucky winner would receive a free trip with Intrepid Travel valued up to $2,000!
Drag Brunch
The campers didn’t know that they’d be surprised during the lip-sync battle by local plus-size drag performers! Our private chef prepared gumbo and beignets for our New Orleans-inspired Drag Brunch.
Private Sail
After all of the performances our campers sailed Seneca Lake on a private sailboat! This stunning floating picnic was sponsored by Finger Lakes Wine Country and hosted on a vintage sailboat.
Waterfall Chasing
Finger Lakes Wine Country has over a dozen gorgeous waterfalls. So no visit to this region is complete without a little bit of waterfall chasing.

Fat Camp 2023 was a success and we can’t wait to bring it back for its sixth year! In an effort to make Fat Camp 2024 more financially accessible, we’ll start selling tickets earlier in the year to give campers more time to make payments with our payment plan option.
