Fat Positive Podcasts You Should Be Listening To

Lately, I’ve been listening to a ton of podcasts! From true crime and TED Talks to body-positive and fat politics. Here are a few fat positive podcasts that every plus size girl should be listening to:

The Fat Lip Podcast

The Fat Lip was one of the first fat positive podcasts I started listening to. Ash, is an activist and self-proclaimed super fat. She’s open and honest on subjects that can be slippery within the community. Including sex, dating, and fetishes. Ash makes an effort to chat with and support intersectional and underrepresented communities. She also talks about representation in entertainment, traveling while fat and how to deal with uncomfortable family interactions during the holiday. I had an opportunity to interview her and she featured me on the show! Listen to my episode about Fat Camp and Fat Girls Traveling.

She’s All Fat

I’ve been obsessed with this fat positive pod since it began last year. I actually unknowingly met the hosts Sophie and April at CurvyCon last year and totally fan-girled after I discovered it was them. This dynamic duo talk about a range of topics from pop culture and music to fat politics. It’s the place I learned of the incredible Fattyonce Instagram profile. Their Fattie Film School segment has introduced me to a diverse line-up of tv shows and movies. They don’t shy away from talking about difficult and personal subjects like their mental and physical health and race relations.

Body Podcast

I recently added this pod to my listen list. Hosted by Jillian Bustle, a plus size burlesque performer and singer and Liza Poor, an actress, and signer these two are funny, witty and have great banter. I look forward to binging on all of the previous episodes of Body Podcast while I work.

Fat Club Podcast

I absolutely adore Becky and Danielle of Fat Club Podcast! And not only because I’ve been featured on this podcast. They talk about issues that impact me but they also discuss a lot of topics that I’m not affected by but am very curious about. Like being Queer in the Mormon Church and being Non-Binary. They are giving a voice to segments of our community that are often left out of the conversation.

Fat Girls Club

Fat Girls Club is the new fat positive pod on the block. Hosted by besties Liesl and Jessica this podcast is like having an incredible conversation with your body-posi bestie. I’m either cracking up or saying  “Girl YASS!!” the entire time. I’ve been a HUGE fan of Jessica Torres and her work at Revelist for years! I met last year at CurvyCon and she was incredibly kind and down to earth. Basically, exactly how she seems on the pod.

Woman of Size

Woman of Size is another new pod on my listen list. I like to hear about the experience of as many people as possible. Especially women living in bigger bodies. I recently listened to host, Jana interview two Indigenous entrepreneurs and share her experience as a mixed race Native. I look forward to hearing what else this fat positive pod has to offer.

Did your favorite Fat Positive pod make the list? If not, tell us why you love it in the comments.
